Matrixyl 3000 (Pal-GHK and Pal-GQPR)

Overview

Matrixyl 3000 is a combination cosmetic peptide formulation consisting of two palmitoylated peptides: Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1 (Pal-GHK) and Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7 (Pal-GQPR). The two peptides are proposed to work synergistically — one stimulating collagen production while the other modulates the inflammatory signaling associated with matrix degradation. FenaLife supplies Matrixyl 3000 (as the Pal-GHK + Pal-GQPR combination) for research use only.

Research Background

Matrixyl 3000 was developed by Sederma and is one of the most commercially studied cosmetic peptide combinations. Published research includes fibroblast culture studies documenting collagen and glycosaminoglycan synthesis stimulation, and human subject studies measuring wrinkle depth reduction. Pal-GQPR was added to the Matrixyl 1000 (Pal-GHK alone) formulation based on evidence that it reduces IL-6-mediated matrix-degrading signaling, providing a complementary anti-degradation mechanism to Pal-GHK’s synthesis-stimulating activity.

Studied Mechanisms

Pal-GHK stimulates fibroblast synthesis of collagen I, collagen III, fibronectin, and glycosaminoglycans. Pal-GQPR is a fragment of tenascin-C and IL-6 receptor signaling modulators that reduces IL-6-mediated inflammation and matrix metalloproteinase expression, protecting newly synthesized matrix from degradation. Together, the combination addresses both the synthesis and degradation sides of collagen homeostasis.

Molecular Profile

Supplied as a combination of Pal-GHK (MW ~578.8 g/mol) and Pal-GQPR (MW ~644.9 g/mol). Each component purity: ≥98% by HPLC.
